**Description**:
The RN Clinical Nurse is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team focused on providing individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care. The role operates within a professional practice model supported by shared governance and evidence-based research. The RN is responsible for practicing in compliance with applicable nursing standards and regulations, advocating for patients, and embodying core nursing values.

**Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions**:

- Conducts the nursing process using evidence-based practice.
- Collaborates with patients and families to deliver culturally aware, patient-centered care.
- Engages in activities like bedside shift reporting and interdisciplinary rounds to ensure patient goals are achieved.

- **Teamwork and Collaboration**:
- Coordinates and documents safe, quality patient care.
- Promotes teamwork in a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Participates in performance improvement and shared governance.

- **Professional Development and Initiative**:
- Completes competency assessments and mandatory education.
- Mentors and preceptors new nurses and students to build a qualified workforce.

- **Evidence-Based Practice and Research**:
- Advocates for evidence-based practice and nursing research.
- Maintains compliance with healthcare policies, standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Engages in data collection and seeks expert consultation for practice questions.

- **Resources and Support**:
- Plans proactively for patient care across the continuum.
- Develops protocols in collaboration with the healthcare team.

The position requires working every other weekend and covering two major and two minor holidays. The RN Clinical Nurse is expected to adapt to a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong critical thinking and time management skills, and respond to emergencies decisively and respectfully.
