**Certifications:** BLS (American Heart Association), Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certification
**Must-Have:** Experience with Level I trauma and EPIC within the last year

**Description:**
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients over a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and utilizes resources within the institution's philosophy.

**Essential Functions:**
- Perform duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care provided for the healthcare team's use.
- Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate care plan based on patient and family needs.
- Implement and modify plan of care based on evaluation.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by addressing and reporting safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicate directly with others to resolve issues and offer feedback for peer development.
- Identify learning needs and initiate appropriate solutions.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

**Department Specific Job Functions:**
- Perform patient care duties such as assessments, start IVs, insert NG tubes, dressing changes, administer medications, and insert catheters.
- Access Mediports and maintain them throughout the shift.
- Maintain documentation standards demonstrated by passing quarterly chart audits.
- Assist with bedside bone marrow aspirations.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Administer Chemotherapy/Biotherapy to patients on the Oncology unit and hospital-wide.
- Administer outpatient treatments to Oncology patients when necessary.

**Schedule Notes:**
- Candidates must have experience with Level I trauma and EPIC within the last year.

**Education:**
- Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
