**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Maternal Child Health (MCH)

**Job Specialty:** Postpartum - Critical Need

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience

**License:** Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)

**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- ACLS

**Must-Have:**
- Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
- Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws
- Demonstrated knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium/Oxytocin/Insulin)
- Demonstrated ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing
- Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing
- Demonstrated knowledge of IStat
- Demonstrated ability to perform Adult Cardiac monitoring
- Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
- Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns
- Demonstrated knowledge of newborn medication, including ability to perform IV administration and maintenance
- Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets/lights
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiant warmers
- Demonstrated knowledge to support gyn teaching & post-operative bladder training
- Demonstrated knowledge to support maternal-newborn teaching

**Job Description:**

- Provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Perform patient assessments and administer medications as required, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Complete lab draws and initiate IV lines with precision and care.
- Administer and manage medication, particularly high-risk medications following established protocols.
- Engage in patient education, offering guidance and support for new mothers in breastfeeding and postpartum recovery.
- Monitor vital signs and fetal heart rates, utilizing electronic monitoring equipment.
- Conduct routine medical procedures, including urine point of care testing and capillary blood glucose testing.
- Utilize newborn monitoring equipment, including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring devices.
- Support discharge planning by collaborating with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care instructions for post-hospital care.
