**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Telemetry - ED Holds/Tele type

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12-hour nights, 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; first to float, may float to sister facility

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of recent experience, within the past 6 months

**License:** Required

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS

**Must-Have:** Strong cardiac telemetry background, preferably 2 years. Ability to decrease cardiac drips per physician's orders and parameters.

**Job Description:**
- Work in a telemetry position requiring strong telemetry skills.
- Care for patients from the emergency department waiting for placement on a unit, primarily medical-surgical/telemetry patients.
- Nurses will focus more on telemetry patients compared to medical patients.
- Pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer (two maximum attempts).
- Participate in a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation (study guides provided).
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips, as there is no monitor tech in the emergency department.
- Titrate and manage common drips like Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone.
- Collaborate with the emergency department charge nurse; nursing assistants are available.
- No ventilators; however, may need to assist with equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP.
- Required to float to medical-surgical/telemetry/overflow units as needed.
- Rotate in with permanent staff for holiday requirements.
- No call or standby is required.
- May assist with emergency department patients, including taking vitals, starting IVs, and administering medications.
- Utilize Cerner as the charting system.
- Wear navy scrubs per dress code.
- Participate in two shifts of orientation specific to the medical-surgical/telemetry department at the primary campus.

Additional Notes: Nurses will not be the primary RN for emergency department patient assignments. There may be up to three shift cancellations per contract, with potential full pay for cancellations instead.
