**Shift:** 12-Hour Days, Every Other Weekend, First to Float

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 Hours Per Week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 Years of ICU Experience

**License:** Yes

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required, NIHSS, PALS Preferred

**Must-Have:** Experience with ICP Monitoring and Ventriculostomies (Ventrics)

**Job Description:**

- Telemetry, Labor/Delivery, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs are required to take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on the first day. This is a PASS/FAIL test.
- The unit comprises 30 beds with a patient ratio of 1:1-2. Most of the time, the ratio is 1:2.
- Charge Nurses are available but do not take patient assignments.
- No Nurse Aides support the unit.
- Shift schedules are prepared approximately six weeks in advance.
- Floating to telemetry or medical-surgical units may be required.
- There are no holiday requirements at this time; however, holidays may have to be worked.
- Scrubs color is navy blue.
- GE telemetry and Hamilton ventilators are used in the unit.
- A hospitalist is available 24/7.
- Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services are available round the clock.
- The common diagnoses include trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and ventriculostomies. Experience in handling these cases is a must.
- Previous travel experience is preferred.
- Candidates must be proactive in asking questions and seeking help when necessary.
- This is a fast-paced unit requiring strong teamwork skills.
- The hospital boasts a robust interventional radiology program and is traveler-friendly.
- Candidates should be prepared to work hard in this dynamic environment.
- Floor-specific orientation occurs on the unit for one day.

**Additional Notes:**

- Candidates with less than two years of experience with minimal travel experience will not be considered unless they have significant experience in larger, fast-paced facilities.
- The hospital allows up to three shift cancellations per contract. Each cancellation can involve a full or partial shift.
- The charting system used is Cerner.
