**Guaranteed Hours:** 40.00 Hours/Week
**Experience:** Minimum one year of related experience required
**License:** Licensed Radiology Technologist in the state of employment
**Certifications:**
- ARRT(CT), ARRT(N), ARRT(T) or CNMT registry required or State CT registry
- RT (R) (CT) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
**Must-Have:**
- Ability to float to any designated location within sixty miles of the original assignment or designated float zone
- Basic Life Support certification
- Strong skills in patient care, maintenance, time management, imaging, medical imaging, radiation safety, documentation, radiology, process improvement, and scheduling

**Job Description:**
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department
- Perform high-quality imaging and exams while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs
- Follow standards of safe radiation practice, reducing exposure to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA)
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and serve as a role model for other technologists
- Act as a clinical resource to staff, ensuring current standards of practice
- Perform diagnostic imaging, ensuring safety for all individuals
- Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner
- Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instructions regarding procedures
- Position and assist patients during exams, observing and documenting any unusual occurrences
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff
- Assist with patient transport as needed
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required
- Perform duties of other registered modalities as assigned by management
- Provide on-call coverage outside standard scheduled hours as per department policy
- Input charges and required data for procedures and supplies accurately
- Complete necessary hospital and medical imaging paperwork for each performed exam
- Prepare room, equipment, and materials needed for exams
- Maintain technical operation of equipment, notify service and supervisor of equipment problems
- Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients
- Conduct quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation
- Identify and follow up on problems with appropriate management personnel
- Establish a motivating rapport with physicians, staff, and system departments
- Maintain a high skill level through ongoing education and meeting attendance
- Participate in clinical training for students or staff technologists
- Engage in professional activities and participate in quality and process improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with all regulations and standards
- Contribute to accreditation efforts as requested
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload to meet productivity requirements
- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing needs.
