**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Labor and Delivery (L&D)

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12-Hour Days

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years

**License:** Required

**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Introduction to Fetal Monitoring

**Must-Have:** Ability to circulate in the Operating Room (OR)

**Job Description:**

- Perform normal newborn assessments and routine baby care
- May float to Postpartum on occasion to care for both infant and mother
- Manage and titrate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medications
- Work in a unit with 16 labor rooms, 9 antepartum rooms, and 3 OR suites for C-Sections
- Assess patients in a 7-bed triage unit for those over 20 weeks with pregnancy complaints
- Handle a variety of cases, including high-risk obstetric and routine obstetric care
- Charge nurse present on both shifts
- Collaborate with 2 OB Technicians per shift
- Collaborate with 3 residents and 1 supervising MD on the floor at all times
- Anesthesia available 24/7 with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
- Use nasal cannula in Respiratory Therapy (RT) Equipment
- Read and interpret telemetry monitors in recovery after C-section through the Obix EFM System
- Engage in self-scheduling with the potential for most schedule requests to be accommodated
- Participate in weekend duty every third weekend, potentially more frequently based on unit needs
- Holiday duties include one major and one minor holiday
- Scrub color/dress code requires surgical scrubs which are provided
- Complete 2-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
- Exhibit teamwork, a positive attitude, flexibility, eagerness to learn, and openness to new challenges
