**Certifications:**
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Radiography (R) (ARRT)

**Must-Have:**
- Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve the work environment
- Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative

**Job Description:**
- Perform diagnostic general radiological procedures using various imaging equipment to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.
- Acquire and process patient exams per accrediting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines and department protocols.
- Review cases with the radiologist as needed.
- Review labs and patient history to perform the correct exam.
- Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast when appropriate.
- Recognize and respond to any adverse reactions or allergic reactions.
- Administer IV contrast material via existing IV line or by performing venipuncture.
- Screen patients for the possibility of pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
- Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Review patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity.
- Acquire additional information as needed from the patient, ordering provider, and/or radiologist.
- Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
- Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Transfer and verify image data in PACS and provide necessary medical history and information for radiologist interpretation.
- Use web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours.
- Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and orderliness of work area.
- Recognize malfunctions and service needs and report them timely.
- Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, reporting safety events immediately, including near misses.
- Assist in instructing students and new staff as necessary.
- May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
- Meet productivity levels established by department benchmarks.
- Assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
- May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department for which licensure is held.
- Comply with other job descriptions of cross-trained modalities within the department.
- Secondary registries are not required for cross-trained modalities unless required by specific compliance, licensure, or accrediting bodies.
