About the role:


Maximus is seeking a skilled Windows Administrator to support vital systems in the defense of our Homeland. In this hybrid-remote role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of windows-based servers and systems. Your role will involve managing server infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the reliability and security of the Windows environment.

Maximus TCS (Technology and Consulting Services) Internal Job Profile Code: TCS220, T4, Band 7

Project Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Windows-based server infrastructure, covering tasks such as installation, configuration, and patching
  • Monitor and analyze system performance to identify issues and implement strategies to optimize reliability and efficiency
  • Proficient in working with Windows systems, including versions 2008, 2012R2, and 2016R2
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure system high availability and disaster recovery readiness through robust backup and restoration plans
  • Assist in assessing and mitigating system vulnerabilities to enhance security
  • Conduct routine system backup and recovery operations to safeguard data
  • Manage user accounts, Active Directory, and group policies to maintain a secure and organized environment
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot local and wide-area network applications, including software development tools and operating systems


Minimum Requirements TCS220, T4, Band 7

Project Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess an Active Secret clearance
  • Due to agency and contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship
  • This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime
  • Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule
Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from Annapolis Junction, MD, and be prepared to work onsite at the customer's discretion
  • Onsite presence is required during the transition period and as needed thereafter
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent 7+ Years of experience supporting Windows or related experience is required Certified in Microsoft MCSA and MCSE preferred
