**Job Description:**

- Work in a Medical Surgical unit specializing in Respiratory and Renal Medicine.
- Care for patients with common diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, GI issues, Renal conditions, ETOH withdrawal, ARF, and support for HD patients and Peritoneal dialysis.
- Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, with staff rotation for those handling larger caseloads.
- Titrate drips with the pharmacy calculating heparin; nurses will adjust the rate.
- Collaborate with a Charge Nurse who does not take an assignment and a 24/7 House Supervisor.
- Work with nurse aides at a ratio of 1:10-12.
- Use and manage RT Equipment such as CPAP, NC.
- Engage with remote tele monitoring and notify nurses accordingly.
- Follow a shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with consideration for scheduling requests.
- Fulfill weekend requirements of 2 weekends per 4-week schedule and holiday work as needed.
- Standby duty is required if scheduled and not needed.
- Float to similar areas within skill set as necessary.
- Wear Royal Blue scrub color/dress code.
- Undergo two shifts of unit/department-specific orientation with a preceptor.
- Follow the cancellation policy of 1 shift per 2-week period.
- Use Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR for charting.
- Comply with the scrub color/dress code and CEUs for units requiring NIHSS.

Please note that this position requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to different scenarios common within an acute care setting.
