Job Description:

- Coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on assigned units.
- Ensure quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit’s standards of care.
- Demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization.
- Uphold quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.
- Treat staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.
- Maintain current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.
- Work under the supervision of the Patient Care Director or Manager.
- Function in an environment exposed to infectious diseases and x-rays, while working varied hours, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.
- Handle emergency/crisis situations, requiring prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing and walking, and heavy physical effort to position, push, and/or transfer patients or equipment and supplies.
- Perform tasks requiring reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Maintain necessary physical abilities, including hearing and visual acuity, manual dexterity, and fine motor coordination.
