Description:
The RN Clinical Nurse in Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team.
The role involves ensuring patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality care.
The nursing practice is supported by a shared governance model and guided by professional practice models and evidence-based research.
The RN is expected to be knowledgeable and uphold nursing practices as outlined by professional standards and codes of ethics.
As part of the patient services team, the RN promotes the voice of the patient and supports service excellence goals.
The role involves performing the nursing process, providing relationship-based patient-centered care, and partnering with patients and their significant others.
The RN coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care through effective interdisciplinary communication.
Teamwork and collaboration are key, promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
The role supports performance improvement and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.
The RN takes part in professional development, serves as a preceptor or mentor, and encourages a healthy work environment.
Evidence-based practice and research are promoted in decision-making and evaluating patient care products.
The RN participates in data collection and consults experts and resources to address practice questions.
The role involves proactive care planning across the care continuum.
Participation in the development of protocols and procedures is expected.
The RN must support efficient resource utilization and comply with organizational policies, standards, and codes of conduct.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
