**Must-Have:** Recent long-term acute care hospital (LTACH), trach, and vent experience
**Job Description:**
- Provide quality patient care to critically ill individuals through comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring high standards of nursing care and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Supervise nursing care provided by other caregivers and develop care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Apply critical thinking to promote positive clinical outcomes and ensure patient education and effective discharge planning.
- Document patient assessments, care plans, and pertinent information in electronic medical records accurately and completely.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using biomedical equipment such as defibrillators, suction machines, IV and feeding pumps, and more.
- Administer medications adhering to ICU policies, demonstrating knowledge of actions, side effects, dosages, and routes.
- Recognize and appropriately respond to changes in patient conditions, including cardiac rhythms, respiratory distress, and other emergencies.
- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, arterial line, and bronchoscopy.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, participate in orientation of new personnel, and evaluate nursing staff performance.
- Coordinate nursing care for patients scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
- Participate in assessing and meeting the educational needs of patients and families.
- Provide complete patient reports to incoming RN shifts, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain professional growth, confidentiality, and adhere to hospital policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Demonstrate skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan and comply with all health, safety, and educational requirements.
