**Shift:** Nights - Saturday to Monday, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 hours per week

**Experience:** Level I trauma center experience preferred; minimum 1 to 2 years experience in Diagnostic Radiology or 1 year in CT scanning or equivalent applicable experience required

**License:** Valid ARRT certification

**Certifications:** CPR (AHA) certification required; IV and contrast administration certification required before performing venous contrast administration

**Must-Have:** ARRT certification, BLS certification, proficiency with GE Scanners

**Job Description:**

- Perform CT procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards with high proficiency.
- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment, including post-processing stations, IV contrast injectors, and patient monitoring equipment.
- Review and verify orders for each assigned patient, and consult with the Radiologist for any discrepancies.
- Assist and properly identify patients using two patient identifiers while explaining the procedure.
- Gather and record a complete medical history and correlate other test results with the exam.
- Take responsibility for the exam process from beginning to completion of dictated results.
- Prepare and administer IV contrast, documenting contrast type and amount as required.
- Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if necessary.
- Recognize abnormal anatomy and process additional, reconstructed images or measurements as needed.
- Inform appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in patient's condition and initiate life support if required.
- Assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures and perform procedures following bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies.
- Practice radiation safety principles for self, colleagues, patients, and family members.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.
- Document contrast administration in the medical administration record (MAR).
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion, and assist other medical personnel as needed.
- Require moderate to heavy physical effort in lifting and moving patients and equipment.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
