**License:** Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible
**Certifications:** Healthcare Provider certification (BLS)
**Must-Have:** High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Must maintain required hours of continued medical education

**Job Description:**

- Specialize in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.
- May conduct general diagnostic radiology examinations.
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
- Review clinical data on requisitions and perform the appropriate examination.
- Obtain additional information about patient medical history as necessary.
- Prepare procedure room and regularly replenish stock such as linen and related supplies.
- Analyze the anatomical structure of the patient, set up equipment, and perform the CT scan.
- Manually control the equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
- Administer intravenous contrast media, including utilizing power injectors. Monitor patients for possible reactions as appropriate and provide immediate care in case of a reaction.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure to be performed.
- Ensure adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
- Assist Radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Perform all imaging procedures by demonstrating principles of radiation protection, may involve shielding of patients, selection of appropriate equipment settings, using other ALARA techniques, etc.
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS; including viewing of images into PACS and confirming image/series counts.
- Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System, including study begin, study end, and the completion of the study.
- Review and confirm clinical protocols with the Radiologist before performing the study.
- Demonstrate team member standards of excellence consistently, including open communication, timely response, positive attitude, fostering innovation, and respecting diversity.
- Perform all necessary documentation in the medical record and within the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.
