- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Radiography (R)(ARRT)

- Ability to coordinate patient flow and perform various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative

**Job Description:**
- Perform diagnostic general radiological procedures using various imaging equipment to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries.
- Conduct radiographic procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams following accrediting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines and department protocols.
- Review cases with the radiologist when necessary.
- Check labs and patient history for conducting the correct exam.
- Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast when appropriate.
- Recognize and respond to any adverse or allergic reactions.
- Administer IV contrast material via existing IV line or perform veni-puncture.
- Screen patients for the possibility of pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
- Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Evaluate patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity.
- Take steps to acquire additional information from the patient, ordering provider, and/or radiologist as needed.
- Ensure imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
- Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Transfer and verify image data in PACS, providing necessary medical history and information for radiologist interpretation.
- Utilize web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours.
- Maintain imaging equipment and the workplace environment, ensuring supply inventories and work area orderliness.
- Report equipment malfunctions and service needs timely.
- Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, reporting safety events immediately including near misses.
- Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary.
- May perform duties of a Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator if required.
- Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarking.
- Assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
- May perform duties of other modalities within the department if licensed to do so by appropriate bodies.

**Education:**
- Associate's Degree in a Related Field OR Certificate in Radiologic Technology
