**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Step-Down, Telemetry Med/Surg, Telemetry Nurse

**Job Duration:** 8 weeks

**Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years

**License:** Current IL Nursing License

**Certifications:** CPR, ACLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:** Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and Flu

**Job Description:**

- Float between Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, and Step-Down ICU units.
- Extensive cardiac experience is required.
- Work every other weekend and holiday according to the shift schedule.
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice acts.
- Document patient information according to standards of care.
- Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
- Utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, and escalate to the appropriate chain of command as necessary.
- Work in a Level 1 Trauma facility.
- Use the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Holiday coverage is required.
