**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Job Specialty:** Labor & Delivery/Postpartum

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 7 PM - 7 AM

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience; Labor & Delivery experience preferred

**License:** Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice; for National License Compact state applicants, licensure requirements must be met in home state

**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

**Must-Have:** Current BLS for Healthcare Provider status according to the American Heart Association, Navy blue scrub color

**Job Description:**

- Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan for the healthcare consumer or situation.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers within legal or policy parameters.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
- Practice in a manner that promotes cultural diversity and inclusion.
- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare consumers and stakeholders in nursing practice.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting.
- Seek knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice and futuristic thinking.
- Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
- Contribute to quality nursing practice.
- Evaluate one's own and other's nursing practice against professional standards and guidelines.
- Utilize resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
- Maintain environmentally safe and healthy practice.
- Practice ethically.
- Promote governance and decision-making activities, fostering research to positively affect clinical outcomes.

**Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull.
- Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds in handling patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Requires intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.
- Possess finger dexterity, critical thinking, and the ability to concentrate.
- Must respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions.

**Note:** Requests for time off during Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and Valentine's Day are not approved.
