**Must-Have:** 2 years of ICU experience, ability to read telemetry strips

**Job Description:**

- The unit consists of 30 private beds, including 2 with negative air flow.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are mostly 2:1.
- The unit is primarily a Medical ICU dealing with diagnoses such as Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, and Stroke with TPA/thrombectomy recovery. It also includes target temperature management.
- RNs are required to titrate drips as prescribed, including Norepinephrine, Vasopressin, Inhalation Epoprostenol, Pressors, and Sedation.
- There is a dedicated charge nurse who does not have patient assignments, supported by a 24/7 house supervisor.
- The unit operates without nurse aides but staffs with 2 resource RNs in addition to the charge RN.
- The unit is equipped with ventilators, BiPap, and HFNC.
- RNs should be proficient in reading telemetry strips as there are no monitor technicians.
- Work shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with scheduling handled at the unit level by the assistant nurse manager.
- Weekend work is required every other weekend unless requested otherwise.
- Holiday work is required based on unit needs.
- RNs may need to be on standby if they are low censused during a shift.
- RNs may float to medical/surgical units as required for full assignments.
- The dress code is royal blue.
- Orientation includes 2-12 hour day shifts followed by either a day or night shift depending on the assigned shift, in addition to EPIC and organizational training.
- All requests for time off need to be submitted before the contract starts.
- The cancellation policy allows for 1 shift per two-week period.
- Charting is done using Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR.
- Continuing education units are provided for units requiring NIHSS certification.
