**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in radiation therapy preferred

**License:** State licensed radiation therapist

**Certifications:** ARRT license; CPR certified

**Must-Have:**
- Minimum associate's degree in radiography with a certification in radiation therapy
- Graduate of a JRCERT-approved school registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy

**Job Description:**
- Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy using equipment according to established practices and standards.
- Obtain patient history, answer patient questions, and explain procedures while observing patients for any unusual reactions or events during treatment.
- Follow departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives, including continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Schedule patients for treatments and interface with physicists at initiation of treatment; consult with supportive care physicians, nurses, and social workers.
- Check prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification to ensure accurate treatments.
- Prepare electronic and/or written documentation such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Prepare the room and equipment for patients; transfer and position immobilized patients for treatment, giving special care to medical support such as catheters, IVs, and oxygen.
- Reinforce recommendations given to patients by healthcare providers concerning reactions to treatment and care of the irradiated area, and prevention or treatment of generalized and localized side effects.
- Perform verification and port film exposures for all treated areas and make corrections or changes to therapy as directed by physicians.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Candidates must have a permanent address located 50 miles or more away to qualify. Immediate availability is preferred.
