**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)

**License:** Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado

**Certifications:**
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS and NRP preferred

**Must-Have:**
- Associate's Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
- January 1, 2025 availability
- Holiday coverage required

**Job Description:**

- Independently assess and evaluate the health status of labor and neonate patients.
- Collaborate with the patient, family, providers, and healthcare team to establish realistic and measurable short and long-term goals.
- Prioritize needs through planning and implement all interventions, including patient education and counseling.
- Maintain safe and effective care through standard procedures to stabilize patients or prevent serious complications in emergencies.
- Evaluate and document all interventions to determine outcomes and adjust as necessary.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Provide direct patient care and monitor response to labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
- Promote wellness for mothers through continuous education before and after delivery.
- Educate mothers about infant care.
- Document all events and education in patient medical records using computers.
- Communicate patient conditions verbally and in writing to physicians and nursing supervisors.
- Assist other Family Birthing Center staff in maintaining skills and learning new procedures and equipment.
- Collaborate with nursery nurses in the care of mother/baby couplets.
- Assist physicians with procedures.
- Support the nurse manager as requested.
- Assist staff with emergencies in other nursing units when possible.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for all patients in the Family Birthing Center unit.
