**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 Hours per Week
**Experience:** Minimum three (3) years of applicable experience
**License:** American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in Echocardiography
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
**Must-Have:** Proficiency in patient positioning, recognizing cardiac abnormalities, and basic computer skills

**Job Description:**

- Provide high-quality ultrasound images of the heart and great vessels for adult patients.
- Assist with exercise and non-exercise stress testing.
- Perform two-dimensional ultrasound studies and identify EKG abnormalities and arrhythmia.
- Utilize age-specific knowledge in routine duties and responsibilities.
- Use imaging and Doppler techniques to investigate clinical questions.
- Demonstrate M-Mode technique for measuring cardiac dimensions.
- Estimate valvular insufficiencies using color flow Doppler.
- Assess blood flow, increased velocities, stenosis, regurgitations, and shunts with Doppler methods.
- Employ contrast echocardiography when necessary.
- Evaluate ventricular systolic and diastolic functions and document wall motion abnormalities.
- Recognize congenital heart malformations and acquired pathologies.
- Complete studies according to updated protocols and present additional views when needed.
- Use a segmental approach while obtaining cardiac structure images across different echocardiographic windows.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to maximize image quality.
- Select the most suitable transducer for optimal resolution.
- Obtain, review, and document pertinent patient history and clinical data.
- Correlate clinical history with exam requirements and consult cardiologists as needed.
- Monitor and document procedures within a computerized system.
- Prepare, instruct, and assist patients for dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms.
- Assist cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
- Communicate results to cardiologists promptly.
- Maintain monthly correlation studies and statistics.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment failures.
- Participate in mobile echo/vascular services.
- Take part in on-call rotation.
- Assist in performing functional, pharmacological cardiolite, and echocardiography stress testing.
- Document procedures accurately.
- Assess patients' physical ability to perform tests accurately.
- Interpret and clarify physician orders effectively.
- Provide thorough assessments and notify physicians in crisis situations.
- Show proficiency in identifying lethal arrhythmias.
- Complete quarterly competency in stress lab, holter monitoring, and event monitoring.
