UPMC Emergency Medicine serves as a recruitment and staffing resource for partner hospitals, provides continuing education opportunities to emergency health care providers, and runs a Prehospital Care Program that combines the educational resources of the University of Pittsburgh with the clinical expertise of UPMC. The Department of Emergency Medicine provides emergency care by a trained, board certified emergency physician 24-hours a day.
