**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - ICU

**Job Specialty:** Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks

**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights

**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 Hours per Week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years ICU experience (excluding travel experience). First-time travelers not accepted. Must have at least one prior travel assignment.

**License:** Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the Board of Nursing.

**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

**Must-Have:**
- Epic experience
- Comfort with a 48-hour/week contract (non-negotiable)
- Strong experience with ICU patient profiles and care procedures

**Job Description:**

- Care for complex ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases.
- Manage patients diagnosed with conditions such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-cardiac catheterization, post-surgery, and trauma.
- Cardiac experience, including CABG/TAVR 24-48 hours post-op, is preferred.
- Handle patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3, depending on acuity.
- Proficient in the administration of IV medications, including vasopressors, sedatives, and paralytics.
- Manage hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilators, and telemetry.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced team setting with critically ill patients.
- Utilize Impella, IABP, and CRRT (preferred but not required).
- Potential to float to Emergency Department or Progressive Care Unit.

**Support on the Unit:**
- 1-2 Nurse Aides per unit, including a mobility float aide.
- Charge nurses manage ICU oversight.
- Phlebotomy services available for peripheral blood draws.
- ICU team responsible for midline placements.
- Resource Nurse available (staffing dependent).
- 24/7 Respiratory Therapist support.
- Physician coverage includes Intensivists and Advanced Practice Providers.

**Additional Information:**
- Weekend rotation required every other week.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- No holiday requests during peak periods.
