**Job Title:** Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist

**Shift:** Nights, 4x10 hour shifts (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years

**License:** Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist

**Certifications:**
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography and CT
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

**Must-Have:**
- Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology accredited program
- Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population desired

**Job Description:**
- Provide healthcare services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment
- Perform radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner
- Perform computed tomography procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation
- Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain demeanor in line with medical ethics
- Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful procedure completion

**Essential Job Functions:**
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures
- Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure and assure documentation is available for the practitioner
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety
- Select and operate radiography equipment to achieve desired results
- Position patient and equipment to demonstrate anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort
- Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination
- Determine radiographic technique exposure factors, minimizing exposure to patients and others
- Evaluate images for technical quality and assure proper identification is recorded
- Verify informed consent for, and assist a practitioner with, interventional procedures
- Practice aseptic techniques as necessary
- Assume responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures
- Prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a practitioner
- Initiate basic life support action when necessary
- Assist practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures

**Computed Tomography Specific Duties:**
- Operate computed tomographic equipment and accessories
- Select appropriate program for desired protocol
- Perform venipunctures as needed
- Evaluate images for technical quality and manipulate display parameters, providing hard copy records
- Maintain archival storage of digitized data
- Observe Universal precautions and maintain patient education
- Maintain records while respecting confidentiality and established policy
- Handle equipment malfunction reports and provide input for equipment purchase and supply decisions
- Provide practical instruction for students or other healthcare professionals
- Participate in the department's quality assessment and improvement plan
- Manage control of inventory and purchase of supplies for the assigned area
- Apply patient relations skills and pursue continuing education needed to maintain license or certification
- Accomplish other duties as assigned
