**Must-Have:**

- Experience with Epic (preferred)
- Charge experience (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year Acute experience

**Job Description:**

- Work in an 8-bed labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum unit with 2 triage rooms for pregnant patients and 2 antenatal testing rooms.
- Requires floating to women's units within the service line.
- Average daily census of 4. Twelve private rooms.
- Patient age group includes neonates, adolescents, and adults.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio:
- 1:3-4 for couplets or moms
- 1:1 for laboring patients
- 1:3 for gynecologic surgical patients
- Flexible scheduling with weekend rotation; manager or supervisor available 24 hours.
- Work settings include Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, Level 1 Nursery, Mother/Baby.
- Antepartum care and procedures: Assistance with sterile speculum exam, NST, reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, and triage.
- Fetal monitoring: Spiral electrode placement, use of EFM, IFM, IUPC, recognition, and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
- IV therapy/phlebotomy: Administration of blood and blood products, drawing venous blood, start and maintain peripheral IV.
- Medication/administration: Familiar with anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, prostaglandins, Terbutaline, Pyxis.
- Labor and delivery management: Amnioinfusion, assist with high-risk delivery and vaginal delivery, circulate and scrub for C-sections, handle forceps/vacuum extraction, manage hemorrhage/shock, recover C-Section.
- Neonatal care in delivery room: APGAR scores, baby nurse, collect cord samples, ID/security banding, radiant warmers/thermoregulation.
- Newborn care includes circumcision assistance, car seat education, cord care, discharge teaching, infant identification, metabolic screening, and phototherapy.
- Pain management: Epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, nitrous oxide, pain assessment and management.
- Postpartum care: Support breastfeeding, incision care, Foley catheter insertion, fundus assessment, and care for postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension.
- Surgical case/procedure: Assist with tubal ligation.
- Professional topics and skills: Isolation precautions/PPE, vaccine administration.
- Floating to other units and/or facilities is an expectation for all travelers.
- Completion of a basic Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for specific units.
