Travel Nurse RN

**Job Description:**
- Assess, plan, organize, and evaluate patient care for assigned unit/patients under the direction of the department director.
- Provide quality patient care through the nursing process, including planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharge planning.
- Complete patient assessments and documentation according to policy and patient condition.
- Develop patient care plans, including identifying problems, setting goals, evaluating progress, and determining interventions.
- Report symptoms and significant changes in patient condition promptly to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with the care team for discharge planning needs and readiness.
- Apply age-specific standards, policies, and guidelines to care for patients of all ages.
- Incorporate cultural and developmental needs into the plan of care, ensuring competency in nursing care practices.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and delegate activities to deliver safe and efficient care while maximizing positive outcomes.
- Provide patient care documentation according to established standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members in educating patients and families about disease processes and wellness promotion.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, including data collection and analysis to maintain quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate awareness and relevance of research in nursing to improve practices.
- Utilize communication tools and systems effectively to stay informed and convey information within the healthcare team.
- Uphold the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions, applying principles of customer service and quality improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient care, personnel issues, and strategic matters, adhering to policy.
- Foster a cooperative work environment by maintaining positive relationships and communication.
- Utilize the appropriate chain of command to resolve problems affecting job performance.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds during patient care activities.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, and walking for five or more hours per day.
- Visual acuity to distinguish skin tone variations, detect IV infiltration, and read medical instruments.
- Hearing acuity to discern patient body sounds and equipment noises.
**Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures:**
- Potential exposure to chemicals, solvents, sharps, blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and medical waste.
- Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary for safety.
