**Certifications:** ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP, COVID Vaccine Required

**Must-Have:** Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification and at least two years of Labor & Delivery experience

**Job Description:**

- Work in the Family Birth Center with 3 labor and delivery rooms; be prepared to assist in MedSurg if the unit is full.
- Provide comprehensive care for labor and delivery patients, with staffing ratios ranging from 1 to 1 up to 1 to 4.
- Utilize the Cerner Electronic Medical Record system for documentation.
- Operate under the supervision of a charge nurse; no nurse aides present.
- Contribute to holiday staffing by rotating with permanent staff.
- Wear hospital-issued ceil blue scrubs.
- During C-sections, care for newborns with the assistance of respiratory therapy and anesthesia teams.
- Manage up to 150-175 births per year; may occasionally be the only L&D nurse on site, with a second nurse on call if needed.
- Assist with patient transfers to alternate facilities for pregnancies under 36 weeks.
- Participate in unit-specific orientation programs for at least two days, with additional training based on experience and comfort level.
- Be prepared to float primarily to MedSurg for tasking as needed.

This position does not require the candidate to have a BSN, but the ability to work night shifts and weekends is crucial. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per contract, offering full pay for certain canceled shifts in lieu of processing them as cancellations.
