**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights (18:45 - 07:15); Every Other Weekend
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years
**License:** Required to submit
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS
**Must-Have:** Acute care experience, cardiac and respiratory skills
**Job Description:**
- Work in a 20-bed Stepdown Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Maintain a nursing ratio of 1:4.
- Manage patients with common diagnoses such as cardiac conditions, respiratory issues, alcohol withdrawal (ETOH w/d), and renal failure.
- Titrate medications such as Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone as needed.
- Collaborate with Charge Nurse and House Supervisor.
- Work alongside nurse aides with a ratio of 1:8.
- Utilize respiratory therapy equipment, including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.
- Monitor patients using telemetry, with assistance from monitor techs; RNs are responsible for reading strips.
- Follow a weekend requirement of every other weekend and a holiday requirement of one major and one minor holiday.
- Be on call for low census situations and float to ICU or Med/Surg as needed.
- Wear scrub tops of any color/design, with pants in black, navy blue, cocoa brown, khaki, or charcoal gray.
- Complete a unit-specific orientation over 2 shifts.
- Use the EPIC charting system.
- Note the hospital's cancellation policy allows up to 3 cancellations per contract.
