**Job Description:**
- Function as an integral part of the perioperative team as the first, second, or assisting Surgical Technician under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Apply the principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
- Demonstrate competency in technical and psychomotor skills, judgment, and appropriate knowledge base.
- Provide age-specific care to obstetrical patients according to established policies and procedures.
- Assist in the organization and coordination of supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient and cost-effective department.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, co-workers, and self, adhering to safety and legal requirements.
- Charge for equipment and supplies.
- Participate in room turnover and set-up.
- Maintain and clean equipment, identifying items needing repair per policy.
- Effectively perform sterilization, disinfection, and document loads per policy.
- Independently scrub basic surgical procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed.
- Apply basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimal surgical patient care.
- Apply knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers.
- Demonstrate knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork.
- Apply principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures.
**Education:**
- Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology OR Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program
**Languages:** English (Speak, Read, Write)
