**Job Description:**

- Rotate through all areas including decontamination, requiring extended standing periods.
- Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and/or manufacturer instructions, following department protocols.
- Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures.
- Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.
- Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
- Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality; identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer.
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.
- Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
- Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, standing, bending, lifting, and/or reaching for extended periods.
- Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions.
- Scrubs provided and must be laundered on-site. Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered.
- Work every other weekend in a large, busy, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center.
- Facility provides sterile processing services for multiple sites, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers, and emergency services for the area.
