**Must-Have:** Experience with post-op surgical patients

**Job Description:**

- Work in a medical surgical unit with a total of 36 beds
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5
- Care for a mix of post-operative surgical and medical patients, including those with cardiopulmonary conditions such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and COVID
- Common surgical cases include total joints, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and simple back surgeries
- Use of RT equipment: CPAP, BiPAP; patients needing high flow will be transferred if necessary
- No titration of drips required; use of heparin drips with a set rate
- Charge nurse and resource nurse available each shift; charge nurse does not take assignments
- Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) available with a ratio of 1:8
- Expectation to read and interpret monitors, support available from charge or resource nurses if needed
- Shift timings are 7 PM to 7 AM; scheduling requests considered but no self-scheduling
- Weekend and holiday work possible if needed; no on-call or standby requirement
- Floating to other medical surgical floors may be required
- Dress code is Navy Blue scrubs; uniforms not provided
- Orientation includes general training and one shift on the unit
- Charting with EpicCare Inpatient EMR system
- Facility has a 50-mile radius rule for candidates
