**Job Description**

**Targeted Hourly Pay Range:** Minimum of $24.00 to a maximum of $34.00

**POSITION PURPOSE:** Under general supervision from the Metering Supervisor or other assigned supervisor, the Metering Technician will perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, repairs, tests and programs electronic and mechanical meters for uses.

**PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES** **:**

+ Respond to service orders concerning customers, including equipment change-outs, device commissioning, and system troubleshooting.

+ Use specific software to commission/program electronic/thermal/water meters, and remote data collection hardware, and complete all relevant paperwork associated with the assignment.

+ Coordinate electrician presence onsite and execute project micro-management upon completion-follow up on any new opportunities.

+ Communicate with customers, contractors, and co-workers, and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.

+ Perform other duties as required including occasional drawing reviews/updates, tenant surveys, and occasional meter reading.

+ Partake in department workflow, stay aware of ongoing projects, and assist when necessary.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

**Education / Experience / Background**

+ An associate's or Bachelor's Degree in electronics, computer technician, or instrumentation is strongly preferred.

+ At least two years of related field work experience or any equivalent combination of education and work experience.

**Knowledge / Skills / Abilities**

+ Demonstrates knowledge of programming, testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of electronic and mechanical meters.

+ Strong PC skills as well as demonstrated skills in reading sub-meter drawings, diagrams, and wiring layouts.

+ Proven proficiency in Visio and AutoCAD.

+ Ability to work collaboratively with customers and vendors, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

+ Reliable team player. An organized self-starter, able to follow standard procedures, prioritize assignments, and address problems as they arise or seek appropriate help.

+ The employee will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

**Required Certification / Licenses / Training**

+ Valid state-issued driver's license.
