We're currently seeking dedicated CNA Mentors for our skilled nursing Healthcare Center at Luther Acres, a Luthercare community in Lititz, PA. We offer full-time positions (7A-3P, 3P-11P, 11P-7A) Monday-Friday, weekends as needed.

WHAT YOU DO:

As a CNA Mentor at Luther Acres, you provide mentorship, support, and training to CNAs embarking on their journeys with Luthercare. You will help them enhance their skills and build confidence in their caregiving abilities. Your leadership will play an important role in fostering a collaborative environment within our nursing team. You'll do this in several ways, including:

1. Assist new employees in acquiring the experiences and skills needed to be successful in their new positions.
2. Support new employees through the orientation process and beyond, available to respond to orientees' needs and presents a professional attitude, performance, and supportive manner.
3. Introduce new employees to coworkers and make them feel welcome.
4. Make beds, change linens, lift/turn/move residents. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including but not limited to bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, dressing, eating, toilet usage, personal hygiene and bathing. Answer call bells as necessary.
5. Assist Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses in the administration of treatments and procedures. Collect specimens, pass bed pans and urinals, empty and clean drainage bags and record volume of intake and output.
6. Deliver/serve meals and assist residents in consumption as needed. Calculate percentage of food and fluid intake & document appropriately.
7. Observe and record indicative signs and symptoms in resident conditions and report unusual situations, reactions or other conditions to the supervisor.
8. Document all care given utilizing appropriate forms/procedures utilizing Luthercare's Medical Record Documentation standard and electronic health record processes.
9. Maintain a high degree of safety awareness, fall prevention and infection control practices and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities as required.
10. Document all care given utilizing appropriate forms/procedures utilizing Luthercare's Medical Record Documentation standard and electronic health record processes.

CNAs are assisted by our Hospitality Aides in providing care to our residents.

ABOUT LUTHER ACRES:

Luther Acres - located in the charming, historic town of Lititz - is a Continuing Care Retirement Community with a long history of providing excellent care and services. It is part of Luthercare, which is a not-for-profit, faith-based, and mission-driven organization. Luthercare provides a network of services through its full continuum of care with three communities in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. Luther Acres is its largest community, with nearly 600 residents living across its independent living cottages and apartments, personal care apartments, and skilled nursing healthcare center.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1. Current enrollment on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry or completion of approved training with competency evaluation to be completed within one hundred and twenty (120) days of hire.
2. Ability to remain positive and calm in challenging moments.
3. Ability to treat others with care, respect, and patience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1. Held a CNA position at Luthercare for a minimum of 90 days prior to applying for the Mentor role.
2. Previous mentorship, leadership or similar experience in previous role.
