Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Intensive Needs Preschool Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized education and support to preschool-aged children with intensive needs. This position requires adherence to both federal and Ohio laws, regulations, and guidelines governing special education in preschool settings.

Responsibilities:

* Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development: Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to develop and implement effective IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each child.


* Instructional Planning and Delivery:
* Design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that address the diverse learning styles and abilities of preschool children with intensive needs.
* Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.


* Behavioral Intervention and Support:
* Implement positive behavior intervention plans and strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote a positive learning environment.
* Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other professionals to develop consistent behavior management approaches.


* Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
* Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate the progress of each child in meeting their individualized goals.
* Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress effectively to parents and relevant team members.


* Collaboration and Communication:
* Work closely with special education coordinators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student support.
* Foster open communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and involving them in decision-making processes.


* Compliance with Federal and State Regulations:
* Stay abreast of federal laws such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Ohio's special education regulations.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to special education services for preschool children.



Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education or a related field.
* Valid Ohio teaching license with appropriate endorsements for special education.
* Experience working with preschool-aged children with intensive needs.
* Knowledge of federal and Ohio special education laws and regulations.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
