Position Title: AVL Technician

Department: HNE Program

Reports to: Program Director

FLSA Status: Part Time; Non-exempt (hourly)

Job Summary

To promote the message of the Gospel through distraction free operation of all audio, visual, lighting and staging elements throughout Hume New England. To further the goals and message of Hume Ministries by providing an atmosphere of worship, communication, and professionalism throughout all aspects of the live production environment. To provide insight and knowledge into maintaining, upgrading, and replacing all aspects of live production equipment and staging.

Organizational Strategy

● Responsible for operation of any and all audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment needed for any and all Hume Ministries events

● Responsible for pre-production planning and execution of a creative, distraction free and spiritually powerful experience for all events on campus requiring technical production.

● Communicate clearly and frequently with Program and Camp staff to make sure that their production needs are provided for.

● Complete seasonal installations and system builds for various camp themes and activities. ● Assist with repair. replacement, maintenance, and installation of all live production equipment. ● Prepare and set up outdoor and portable systems for various Hume Ministries events as needed

● Responsible to help maintain and progress creative production levels.

● Mentor and train part time and Summer Staff including Guest Group Hosts

* Assist Guest Group's with their AVL needs
* Communicate with Guest Group AVL coordinators prior to their retreat to answer any questions they may have.

● Evidenced commitment to the Christian faith and a desire to share the knowledge of Jesus Christ with others

● Able to agree with our Statement of Belief and abide by our Code of Conduct (see Employee Handbook) ● Commitment to excellence and attention to detail

● Manage camp resources with biblical view toward stewardship

● Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job

Specific Qualifications

● Must have a strong knowledge & track record of audio mixing, audio systems infrastructure, and audio signal flow

● Must have some experience in lighting for theatrical staging and concert lighting and lighting systems infrastructure

● Must have some knowledge of video systems including large format projection, imag, video streaming and video infrastructure

● Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal/relational skills

● Remain current and knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies relating to all areas of live production

● Experience or knowledge of Christian Camping

● Remain current in general office technology; computer literacy in word processing, Excel spreadsheets and database management

● Commitment to working with leadership, program staff, and coworkers, as well as partnerships with the local church

● Strong oral and written communications skills

● Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities within deadlines

● Must have a passion to see people come to Jesus Christ for Salvation and Spiritual Maturity

Physical Demands

● Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; may be on uneven or rugged terrain ● Must be able to live and work in extreme weather conditions

● Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; increased amounts of weight may be required ● Must be able to live at high altitude and in small living quarters

● Some out-of-town and/or overnight travel may be required

Educational

● College Degree in Live Production/Theatre preferred or 5 years of live production equivalent experience ● Must have 5 years experience in working in a live production team environment

Other

● Must have a track record of success in Live Production in the areas of Audio, Video, Lighting, and Staging ● Must have a passion for communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others through the use of technology ● Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of the position
