SUMMARY

Performs the duties of a licensed dispensing optician in a retail optical shop located within a Practice site.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Associate's degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing or equivalent, or completion of a valid apprentice program. Current Massachusetts Dispensing Optician's License. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

EXPERIENCE

One to two years of experience dispensing and fabricating eyeglasses.

SKILLS

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to work with technicians, optometrists and ophthalmologists in a coordinated eye care service.
