JOB SUMMARY

The Class A CDL Truck Driver is responsible for the care and handling of the assigned truck. They are responsible
for training truck helper in all aspects of their job duties on the truck. Driver is to comply with all DOT
regulations; properly fill out the daily truck report by guidelines set forth by Director of Logistics to fulfill
DOT requirements; MUST present good customer service to donors, retail staff and customers they
are in contact with. The truck team transports and unloads all inventory for the retail sales floor to assigned
retail locations on assigned delivery day. He or she is responsible for the proper placement of all incoming
donated goods to Processing Center.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid, Active Class A CDL is required
  • Must have prior driving experience;
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • He or she must be able to comply with all DOT requirements for the position.
  • Must be able to pass background and drug test (Required)
  • Must be able to work well with others. (Required)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, write and keep accurate records and follow directions.
  • He or she must have knowledge and experience relating to the position.
  • He or she must have polite and courteous manners, and acceptable speech.
  • He or she needs to have people skills to deal with customers and donors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • He or she will be doing heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing in and out of the truck cab and
    box.
  • He or she must have strong hands, arms, legs and back.
  • Good health to be able to tolerate indoor-outdoor weather changes.
  • Physical work up to eight (8) hours or more per day.
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds or more.
  • He or she cannot have any lifting, standing, sitting or climbing restrictions.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Driver has safety equipment provided and is required to use and maintain said equipment on the truck at all
times. Each truck crew is provided back support brace, gloves, a first aid kit, road triangles, raincoats,
a telephone with camera, emergency numbers, a fire extinguisher, load bars and straps for securing a load.

Loading and unloading of various sales floor inventory items on and off trucks. When handling loose or
unclean items, gloves should be worn by truck crew for their safety. Truck crew will be exposed to weather
conditions such as rain, sleet, snow and heat.
