Compliance Specialist

Salary: 50k-55k annually

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, regulations, and Agency policies by reviewing, monitoring, and auditing service documentation. Participate in internal audits, investigations, and training sessions to maintain adherence to OPWDD, OMIG, and other government regulations.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct spot checks and monthly audits of service documentation and billing certifications.
* Participate in internal audits, writing deficiency notes, and implementing corrective actions.
* Report deficiencies to management and advise on corrective measures.
* Alert Director of Compliance of potential risk areas.
* Stay current with Agency policies, OPWDD, and OMIG regulations.
* Conduct trainings for agency employees.
* Safeguard security and confidentiality of documents.
* Assist in developing auditing tools and documents.
* Assist with corrective actions and audit reports.
* Participate in Compliance Committee and other assigned committees.
* Maintain vendor and contract database.
* Conduct and document investigations.
* Review and monitor agency's EHR system and oversight agency's system.

Requirements:

* BA/BS degree in Human Services or related field.
* Minimum 2 years experience within OPWDD/OMIG regulations.
* Proficiency in written, verbal, organizational, and computer skills.
* Detail-oriented and self-driven with teamwork abilities.
* Completion of OPWDD and NYS Justice Center investigation course.
* Maintains professionalism and confidentiality.
* Successful completion of criminal background check and fingerprint examination.
* Flexibility for work location and travel.
