Responsibilities
Dr. Janice Krieger at the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC) in Jacksonville, Florida has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow in cancer communication. The postdoctoral associate will join a vibrant interdisciplinary research team working on communication research spanning cancer screening to treatment decision-making. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Krieger's team to contribute to a NIH-funded grant through data collection, data management, data analysis, and leading/contributing to manuscripts related to the project (e.g., message design, intervention evaluation, health technology, dissemination, research methods). Candidates should indicate experience working in interdisciplinary teams, implementation of mobile interventions, clinical trial recruitment or familiarity with conducting quantitative or qualitative data analysis.
The research fellow will receive training in translational health communication within the context of cancer population sciences. Other potential areas of training include community outreach and engagement, recruitment and dissemination science, reducing cancer inequities, e-health technology (e.g., patient portals, virtual humans), grant writing, and utilizing unique data sources. The position is for one year, with potential to renew.
Applicants should have a PhD in health communication, communication science, public health, psychology, or a related discipline by the start date.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

* Proof of doctoral degree (copy of diploma or final transcript with English translation, if applicable) or a letter from your university's Registrar office indicating you have fulfilled all doctoral program requirements and are eligible to graduate.
Please also be prepared that you may be asked to provide three letters of recommendation to the hiring PI prior to an interview.

Must have a PhD in health communication, communication science, public health, psychology, or a related discipline Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
