Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or Ged
- 48 hours college credit or equivalency exam
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to follow discipline plans
Experience:
- Some experience working with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups, and varied abilities.
- Model and implement appropriate behavior interventions within SFISD's MTSS/RTI procedures.
- Collect reliable data on each student. Track interventions and strategies utilized to keep student while supporting student.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and adults.
- Work with the campus RTI administrator and campus teams in the implementation of data collection systems, discuss the effectiveness of interventions, strategies, and support, and contribute to future.
- Assist the general education classroom teacher in all aspects of classroom instruction and behavior support.
- Ability and willingness to work with students who have needs and/or aggressive behaviors.
- Support students throughout the school day including passing periods and lunch.
- Supervise and provide appropriate assistance to students in general education and special education throughout the school day with the possibility of supervising a student on transportation to and from school.
- Consult and collaborate with site and district staff as needed.
- Participate in RTI meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports.
- Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job performance.
- Work in harmony with supervisory, faculty, and peer personnel.
- Support and follow administrative and Board policy.
- Represent the school system to the community in a positive, professional way.
- Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward patrons.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
