Job Location: Lawrence, KS
Job Duration: 7 months
 
Shift: 40 hrs a week (day shift – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm M-F)
            30 hrs/week – (e.g., the same day shift but T-F (Mondays off)
            day shift with as few as 6 hrs/day (9:00 am to 3:00 pm M-F)
 
Job Description:
Summary Of Position:
  • Briefly summarize the primary purpose of the position.
  • Performs basic preparatory procedures on feed samples containing pharmaceutical ingredients according to FDA cGMP requirements.
  • Performs sample preparation on fecal samples for parasite egg counts, chicken GI tracts for worm counts and serum samples.
  • Prepares laboratory reagents and solutions according to analytical methodology or standard operating procedures (SOP).
 
Major Activities and Responsibilities:
  • Describe briefly the major activities of the position. Indicate the approximate percentage of time spent on each activity.
  • 75% Grinds feed mill samples and prepares fecal and gut samples as part of routine testing programs.
  • 15% Glassware cleaning and other general housekeeping duties.
  • 5% Maintains complete and accurate documentation for all work performed.
  • 5% Performs other tasks as requested by management.
 
Quals--
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Prior laboratory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Personality: • Team player • Good work ethics • Motivated to work independently
  • Physical requirement: Able to lift 25 lbs, require prolonged standing and manual labor work.
 
Note:
  • The Client Animal Health lab in Lawrence, KS is looking to add a temporary worker for the rest of 2024, with a possibility to extend the contract into 2025.
  • 100% onsite role. Possibility of extension. 40hrs/week(M-F).
