UPMC Hillman Outpatient Pharmacy is looking for a full time Staff Pharmacist to join their team
You will ensure the provision of cost-effective pharmacotherapy contributing to optimal patient outcomes, provide experiential education for future health care practitioners, and support the patients of Hillman Cancer Center as well as Shadyside Hospital RxExpress (meds to beds) program.
This is a full time position (40 hours per week), working shifts between the hours of 730am and 6:10 pm, M-F, along with a Saturday shift once every 4 weeks from 8am to 4 pm.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Interpret and evaluate physician orders in order to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for outpatient treatment in accordance with the Practicing State's Pharmacy Practice Act, Federal Drug Laws, and other regulatory organizations.
+ Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions and therapeutic duplications while entering orders and/or verifying medications.
+ Organize daily operational duties and assist in the supervision of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy aides, student interns and other ancillary personnel involved in providing pharmaceutical care.
+ Evaluate patient medication orders for suitability of drug selection, dosage, and other considerations such as patient age, weight, sex, organ function, diagnosis and allergies. Apply pharmacokinetic principles when appropriate. Consult with prescriber for corrections or clarifications if needed.
+ Participate in departmental quality improvement and cost-reduction initiatives, as well as UPMC Rx Express to continually improve patient outcomes.
+ Ensure the timely provision of cost-effective drug therapy contributing to optimal patient outcomes. Ensure proper technique is used in the preparation of drugs.
+ Fill prescription orders in accordance with State and Federal regulations, utilizing technological resources and equipment.
+ Utilize all available technologies in the provision of pharmaceutical care (i.e., computer systems and databases, pneumatic tube system, etc.).
+ Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
+ Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchange protocols, and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
+ Adhere to all regulatory requirements, professional standards of practice, and hospital quality management policies and procedures in providing pharmaceutical care.
+ Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
+ Performs other duties as assigned
+ B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.) from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
+ 3-6 months pharmacy experience is preferred.
+ Previous experience or familiarity with investigational drug control procedures and protocol design is preferred. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
