Job Summary

The Jacksonville University Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences' Comprehensive Oral Implantology Program seeks candidates for an Adjunct Position. The successful candidate will join a diverse group of faculty, clinical directors, residents, and staff in their mission to achieve excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, and service.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Duties/Responsibilities

Lecture courses are usually taught in the evenings at 8 PM ET and are fully online. Adjunct faculty members must perform all duties associated with teaching courses at the graduate level. These duties include:

* Course development
* Creating a syllabus that includes course objectives, assignments, assessments, and rubrics.
* Providing lectures to fulfill the course objectives.
* Leading class discussions
* Grading assessments and providing final student assessments.
* Providing prompt responses to student questions.

Required Skills/Abilities

* Diagnosis and treatment planning
* Socket grafting, guided bone regeneration, and maxillary sinus augmentation
* Overview of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures
* The mandible, maxilla and bone physiology/repair
* Overview of implants, their concepts, techniques and maintenanceSoft tissue management
* Fixed and removable prosthodontics in implant dentistry
* Periodontal aspects of implant dentistry and peri-implantitis prevention and treatment
* Advanced dental implant procedures including zygomatic and pterygoid implants
* Management of implant-related complications
* Overview of head, neck and plastic surgery surgical procedures
* Laser surgery and treatments
* Computer-assisted surgery
* Utilization of artificial intelligence in medicine/dentistry
* Management of medically compromised patients
* Pharmacological considerations for implant dentistry
* Conscious sedation of the implant patient

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

* Candidate must possess a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)

Physical Requirements

* Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
* Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
