Empire Distributors Inc, A Leading Beverage Distributor is now hiring a Route Driver. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Coordinates and plans delivery routes and delivers products to service our customers.
* Drives truck to deliver such items as beer, wine, liquor, and point of sale items to customer's place of business.
* Collects returnable items and empty containers from businesses and transports containers back to the distribution center for consolidation and shipment back to suppliers.
* Inspects loads and ensures proper packing and security is in place in order to reduce product breakage and vehicle damage.
* Conducts an inventory of truck contents. Retrieves overages and accounts for shortages.
* Reviews content of the truck to ensure vehicle is loaded correctly.
* Checks the distribution of the weight and product on the vehicle to ensure it is safe and stable.
* Collects and coordinates payments from customers and records transactions on customer receipt.
* Records delivery information using provided delivery record.
* Listens to and resolves service complaints.
* Resolves issues when possible.
* Coordinates customer comments and service issues with transportation management for proper resolution.
* Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
* Provides preventative maintenance and safety checks on their vehicle by conducting DOT regulated pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
* Proficient in the use of telematics devices; to include, but not limited to delivery routes and driver logs.
* Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Management.

Education and/or Experience

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

* Valid Driver's License and the ability to obtain a DOT Card.
