Job Summary:

SpeechCom Inc. is hiring CA School Psychologists (CA Pupil Services Credential required) to serve a public school district in Bellflower, CA for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.

Details:
  • Immediate start through June 5, 2024
  • Full time - 8 hours per day/40 hours per week
  • One TK-6 elementary school.
  • Various levels including mod/severe programs

The school psychologist must have:
  • California Pupil Services Credential in School Psychology from CTC.
  • Must pass Livescan fingerprinting
  • Must have newly completed negative TB results

The School Psychologist will be responsible for conducting academic and psychological assessments, provide individual and/or group therapy, and monitoring treatment-planning efforts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • May be asked to supervise interns.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides family, individual, and group therapy.
  • Conducts academic and psychological testing and evaluations of students.
  • Participates, facilitates, and documents in the individualized education plan (IEP) meetings.
  • Monitors treatment-planning efforts with students' IEP team.
  • Acts as a resource person to the special education department.
  • Conducts ongoing needs assessment for staff-training purposes and assists in the implementation of in-service training programs.
  • Completes re-evaluations triennially to measure progress according to professional guidelines.
  • Build and maintain rapport with students to promote success in counseling program.
  • Keeps current with professional literature and attends seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

Highly developed ability in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of academic and psychological tests.

Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated skill in clinical interviewing.

Demonstrated ability in group therapy, group management, and individual therapy.

Excellent supervisory skills to oversee the work of interns and staff assigned to each student on caseload.

Demonstrated skills in consultation and the ability to work as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

A Master's degree in psychology required.

Pupil Personnel Services Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (Current)

Salary Description

$60-$75/hour
