1.General job duties. Types of procedures required.

Administration of medication; procedures to include, but not limited to NG tube placement, foley placement and care, wound care, ostomy care, blood product administration; specialized patient population of general medical/surgical patient, postpartum patients, mastectomy, hysterectomy.

2.Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

Electronic Medical Record - EPIC, Overhead equipment to move patients (high BMI/paralyzed patient) - no lift institution; quick move; sit to stand; scale; Phyllips vital machine

3.Required skills and minimum years of experience.

Medical/Surgical experience - minimum two years

4.Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)

Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in Illinois, BLS, ALS

5.Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

1900-0730 with weekends and Holidays. Call is not required for this position. The employee will not work alone.

6.Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

Medical/Surgical floors - floating will be expected where the needs exists for med/surg patients throughout the medical center.

7.Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

18 bed/private Women's Care Unit (part of the Family Birthing Center - however this traveler will provide med/surg patient care rather than obstetrics

8.Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

1:6 (other floors)

9.Dress Code:

Viewing Personal Appearance (115) (policystat.com)

NRP (excluded need in this contract); BLS, ALS, Med/Surg procedures
