Building Automation Controls Technician

Scope

The Building Automation Controls Technician is responsible for completing service calls while maintaining positive client relations.

Duties

* Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS systems.
* Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct supervision.
* Effectively communicate with customers to evaluate service needs, maintain proper scheduling and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Monitor customer buildings to ensure optimum performance standards are being achieved. Fine tune systems as new programs and sequences are developed.
* Identify opportunities for additional building enhancements and perform upgrades and/or small scale retrofits on existing systems.
* Perform building surveys and work with Service Manager on estimating additional work.
* Perform necessary software programming, equipment start-up, tuning and calibration and commissioning of BAS systems.
* Be proficient in knowledge of following equipment: VAVs, Exhaust Fans, Unit Vents, AHUs, Hot Water Systems, Chiller Water Systems, and Lighting.
* Stay informed of industry developments for energy savings strategies.
* Effectively provide feedback to supervisor for ways to improve the installation process.
* Utilize Automated Logic's Dealer website and stay current on technical data and solutions for existing problems and updates.
* Assume additional responsibilities as needed and approved by management.

Qualifications

* Field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration and experience with pneumatic controls.
* Knowledge of Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit debugging skills.
* Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical fields.
* Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
* Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
* Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, WebCTRL, Autocad, various operating systems.
* Proven track record of completing projects, being self-motivated and achieving customer satisfaction.
* Deploy, revise, checkout, and commission building automation, DDC, energy management and controls systems hardware, software and graphics.
* Field Supervisor positions also available for individuals with more than 3-4 years' experience, and capable of supervision of subcontractors.
