Medical Technologist

PRN, Days/Weekends

Hematology

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution, or an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or meet grandfather requirements under CLIA'88 personnel requirements.
* One (1) to two (2) years preferred.
* Precision and accuracy to perform Laboratory procedures.
* Keen judgment to evaluate information against measurable criteria in the performance of tests.
* Visual acuity to read instructions and examine specimens.
* Form perception and color discrimination to identify cells and micro-organisms.
* Manual dexterity to operate equipment.

About the Job:

* Perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision.
* Ensures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program.
* Perform instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures.
* Perform minor instrument repair as necessary.
* Assist the Section Supervisor in resolving equipment problems, oversees the teaching and evaluation of students and new employees and has expertise with specific Laboratory procedures or Laboratory instrumentation.
