TEMPLETON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION CLASS TITLE: CAMPUS SUPERVISOR DEFINITION: Monitors campus security during all non-classroom hours. Under the supervision of the Principal, supervises student attendance, and discipline. Monitors and reports misbehavior of students on campus. Supervises extra and co-curricular activities as directed. Hours are flexible. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Primarily monitors parking lot, supervises hallways and restrooms before school, after school, at lunch and at all breaks and passing periods. Follows up on minor disciplinary and attendance infractions. Refers all major infractions to the principal. • Secondarily assists the Administrator and the Athletic Director/Counselor in the areas of attendance, discipline violations, and student behavior on campus. QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of the general needs and behavior of children. • Skilled in the area of inter-personal relationships. • Good speaking ability. • Ability to communicate in writing for the purposes of composing required reports and other correspondence. • Ability to use discretion in all matters, including maintaining confidences. • Ability to recognize the limitations of the authority granted to this position and to distinguish between minor and major offenses and to refer students to the principal as appropriate. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • High school graduation or its equivalent. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS of this position are, but not limited to, the following: Ability to: • Stand in one area for extended periods of time. • Stand and walk for extended periods of time. • Ascend and descend steps. • See for the purpose of reading student work, laws and codes, rules and policies, and other related matter, and observing students. • Hear and understand speech at normal levels. • Communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation. • Communicate using the telephone. • Bend, twist, kneel and/or or stoop. • Lift and carry 30 lbs. • Reach in all directions. • Think clearly and rationally to solve problems.
